La Fondation d’Augustin donated hygiene, sanitation equipment, materials and maintenance products provided free of charge by the government agency in charge of sanitation (National Waste Management Agency,) These gifts were given to the school in Djédouabo to encourage good housekeeping, cleanliness and sanitation.
La Fondation d’Augustin donated 100 Kg of rice and 40L of cooking oil for the N'Gattakro school canteen in order to provide meals preparation support in order to diversify lunchtimes.
The Foundation is committed to collecting at least 2,000 books in order to enrich the documentary background of the school. Developing the area in a more comfortable and friendly place for students includes the installation of two air conditioning splits, basic furniture, wooden shelves, as well as equipping it with two computers and two printers. As the goal of 2000 books, was greatly exceeded to over 3000 books, the surplus will be dispatched to other school libraries in the national territory, in partnership with the Service de la Promotion de la lecture et des Bibliothèques Scolaires of the Ministry of National Education.
The project includes the rehabilitation of 4 concrete sports platforms, a football field, th construction of a storage room for sports equipment, a cloakroom, and a room for sports teachers.
The Djamadji Academic Group (15,000 resident), located in the township of Sinfra, in the Marahoué district, includes 20 classes from 1st to 5th grade with 1,324 students including 581 girls and 743 boys.
The obsolescence and oversized school, the lack of latrines, drinking water, electricity and seats, are factors that impact the quality of education provided in this school which has an average of 66 pupils per class. In addition to these difficult teaching conditions, the condition of the buildings (roofs, floors, walls,) poses a constant risk to the health of students and teachers.
Following a search for funding from international structures, La Fondation d’Augustin officially launched on April 05th, 2019 the construction of a new building with 3 classes and 4 latrines at the Djamadji School. Upstream project, our organizer was mandated on site to undertake the work to prepare the whole community in order to adopt the project. Ultimately, the Djamadji project will contribute to relieving the students and improving their quality of life and education.
La Fondation d’Augustin has rehabilitated and equipped the Lycée Moderne de Dimbokro library. The handover ceremony took place on Thursday, April 11th, 2019.
During the Journées Ouvertes (Open Days) at Ilomba Rural Center in Bingerville on May 25th, 2019, La Fondation d’Augustin was invited to the event and donated loincloths to the best students of the center.
During the award ceremony for the winners of "PRIX SILA DE LA RELEVE" on May 27, 2019 organized by the “Service de la Promotion de la Lecture et des Bibliothèques Scolaires “ (Service of the Promotion of Reading and School Libraries - SP-LBS), a partner of the Foundation in Abidjan, La Fondation d’Augustin donated over 1,000 books (literary works and textbooks) to 8 public schools : 5 in high school (Lycée Municipal d'Abobo, Lycée Municipal de Marcory, Collège Moderne du Plateau, Collège Guchanrolain de Yopoungon, Groupe Scolaire Notre Dame de Lourdes of Yamoussoukro) and 3 in primary shool (Groupe Scolaire de Sogefia1 from Yopougon Center, EPP Magic Système in Marcory, Groupe Scolaire Rosier 5B from Attoban). In addition, 6 smartphones were awarded to the winners.
During the past month of October 2019, La Fondation d’Augustin gave 525 seats in several schools present in Cote d’Ivoire. There are 150 seats offered to Groupe Scolaire of N’GATAKRO, 150 seats received by Groupe Scolaire Djamandji, another 150 seats offered to the Groupe Scolaire of Mougnini and finally 75 seats offered to EPP DJEDOUABO.
On Tuesday, 22 October 2019, La Fondation d’Augustin gave to the Training Center Sainte Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus 2 balls of fabric allowing students to study sewing. This center, that focuses on the teaching of young girls in the sectors of sewing, pastry and hairdressing, is located in Port Bouet, a suburb of Abidjan.
